ABOUT ME

I believe art is everywhere, waiting to be noticed. God has given us a natural world filled with infinite detail, and he has done so with a wildly creative hand. My work is driven by what I experience as the soul-bursting beauty around me — forms whose detail and harmony feel far beyond the human imagination. Often, it is my children who notice the tiniest, most exquisite things, and I paint the treasures they bring me.

 

I work across a range of materials, but primarily with watercolor and gouache. My love of water-based paint is rooted in its practicality and low waste — it stays indefinitely in the palette, waiting patiently for my return — but I am equally drawn to its contained chaos. Watercolor, in particular, follows its own rhythms, and its idiosyncrasies are deeply aligned with those found in nature.

 

In a world that often feels beyond my control, I anchor myself by noticing what is overlooked—what is real, what already exists in quiet perfection and cannot be improved upon. The act of transcribing these forms is surprisingly spiritual. It deepens my sense of wonder and continually reminds me of my place in the world. My hope is that the work offers others a similar pause—a chance to see what is already there.
